Please suggest the right age to do the IQ test.

*do I really need to run for iq test?*

I had seen a parent today.. running from pillar to post to get an iq test done.

Remember iq test is just a documentation of inability to answer age appropriate question given the belief that iq grows every year.
Those kids who can't understand a question and or cant communicate cannot give an age appropriate answer. So technically it's obvious in kids with communication deficit as it is bound to come low.
Iq test is done to get report to avail government schemes or school concession as LD, and needs to be revised every 3 yearly. So it's of less important in kids below age 7 years.
70% autism kids are said to have low iq doesn't mean they are retarded or dumb.

Even high iq if not properly channelised in normal or autism kids is useless.

Those kids who also lack social understanding or maturity need. SQ to be done and not IQ. Doctors do it by using VSMS scales.
Again it's Purely for documentation as many parents donot agree that their kid is delayed or deficient unless they are shown some number.

Moral of the story is don't ask for IQ test, don't wait for its reports, don't run around to a person who can give u better score and say Ur kid is special or high iq to make one feel good....

Get the test done when feasible and possible and when u desperately need certification of disability to avail some law.
